LIGHT VEHICLE INSPECTION
IMI ACCREDITATION LEVEL 3 (ATA)ATA IMI Light Vehicle Inspection Accreditation Level 3
Achievement of the ATA IMI Light Vehicle Technician Accreditation is accepted as the first step towards taking the MOT Tester award.
The ATA IMI Light Vehicle Inspection Accreditation is for technicians whose job role involves the inspection, maintenance and repair of light vehicles. You should have at least four years experience to ensure that you are familiar with the techniques for vehicle servicing, inspection and system diagnosis and, ideally, be in full time employment.
How does it work?
To attain IMI Accreditation you will be required to successfully complete a range of practical and knowledge-based assessments, including:
- Emission Systems
- Electrical Systems
- Braking Systems
- Steering & Suspension Systems
- Vehicle Structure
- Vehicle Appraisal
We offer this course as either a one day assessment only option or a two day course (which includes one day’s training and one day’s assessment only).
The one day option is for skilled and experienced technicians who are able to complete the assessment with no training. The assessment can be completed in one day, subject to being of the appropriate standard. The two day option is for skilled and experienced technicians, who want a little brushing up and refreshing on key areas before starting the assessment. We also offer bespoke course options, so if you feel that you need additional training, do let us know.
Successful achievement of the Level 3 Light Vehicle Inspection Technician Accreditation will not only give you a valuable academic qualification but will also allow for progression onto the MOT Tester Training Course.
